Highlight: Two young and healthy Virginia Sweets tomato plants now reside where our dearly departed Mr. Stripey used to be. Because they are being planted late and they have a relatively long time to maturity, our tomato crop (if we have one) will be in the late summer and early autumn.
Weather: The hot humid weather is on its way. Today we procured a bail of hay. Some will go in the raised garden beds to hold in moisture and prevent disease. (Detailed Summary – click here.)
Plantings: Two Virginia Sweets tomato plants have joined the SFH vegetable garden. They will be watched closely.
Harvest: Nothing to report.
