Highlight: If you thought “Ruffles & Flourishes” was a big deal, you ain’t seen nuthin’ yet. The annual Serendipity Farmhouse Tea Party is next weekend. You can be sure that my beautiful spouse, who is mildly obsessive compulsive, is not going to allow this event to occur without the greatest fanfare. The house will be cleaned; the menu will be made (and remade, and remade again). There will be shopping, there will be more shopping, and on top of that there will be a huge shopping extravaganza at Wegmans.
Adorable spouse just ordered her new hat. She will likely make many more orders. The UPS guy will make at least 40 deliveries. In the meanwhile, Mr. Monte and I will be pressed into involuntary servitude until that significant date. On the day of the party, we will both be banished to the bedroom or some other obscure spot where our unwanted faces can not be seen.
As for the two of us, who wants to be around high-pitched squeals, giggles, and useless girlish prattle. (But the food will be good and we will stealthily sneak out and steal some when heads are turned the other way.)
Oh, by the way, SFH now has full-scale Magnolia blossoming underway – just like a tea party, a true sign of the South.
Weather: Even more rain is coming. I trimmed with the small mower and then polished up with the weed whacker. With the new rain, it will be days before I have a chance to mow the remainder of the yard. (Detailed Summary – click here.)
Plantings: Nothing to report.
Harvest: Nothing to report.
