SFH Journal: 2018-06-13

Highlight: Good son and charming daughter-in-law celebrate their 20th anniversary today. What greater gift can there be for parents than to see their children enjoy the love and stability of a strong marriage. May God continue to bless them abundantly.

Weather: (Detailed Summary – click here.)

Plantings: Mr. Stripey continues to show signs of distress and unhappiness caused by too much rain. Tomorrow we will start the search for some healthier tomato plants. We may have to put poor, sad Mr. Stripey to rest.

Harvest: Not all things are unhappy in the vegetable garden. Hard working and dedicated gardener that she is, dear wife was able obtain some of the fruits of her labor. Three more asparagus, along with several beets and beet greens were harvested and will be on our menu in coming days. The Monticello collards are doing quite well and a large number of them found their way onto our plates this evening. We raised them from seeds and found them to have better taste and texture than other collards we have grown from store-bought plants.
