SFH Journal: 2018-04-26

Weather: It was a glorious day, absolutely perfect for yard work and gardening. (Detailed Summary – click here)

Plantings: Nothing to report

Harvest: Nothing to report

South 40 Cleanup: Dedicated an hour plus to clearing the southern boundary line; weed whacked, cleared dead branches, etc.

Exterminator Visit: Exterminator conducted regular bimonthly visit. Special attention was paid to outside pests, hornets/wasps and carpenter bees.

Daily Highlight: Ambrose (our exterminator) and I swapped tails about recent sightings of a pair of otters in the area. Edible plants, including red buds and berries, were discussed as well as ways to live off the land. Ambrose was elated that he finally had video of a pair of pileated woodpeckers.

  1. I find that the words “elated” and “woodpeckers” do not belong in the same sentence…I am sure that must be a typo.
